Podcast | Digital terrestrial television: the state of play in South Africa

This podcast is a recording of a presentation and a panel discussion hosted by the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers on the state of digital terrestrial television (DTT) in South Africa. The event took place at the University of Pretoria on Tuesday and was facilitated by TechCentral editor-in-chief Duncan McLeod.

Specifically, the panelists – broadcasting industry experts Lynn Mansfield, Gerhard Petrick, Aldred Dreyer and William Stucke, all speaking in their personal capacity and not on behalf of the companies or institutions they represent – were invited to present an ideal world implementation of DTT in South Africa.

Their presentations, along with the panel discussion and audience Q&A that followed, provide an excellent overview of the status of South Africa’s long-delayed DTT migration plan and offer answers on what can be done to speed up the process at this very late stage. .

It’s a great discussion. Don’t miss it.
