Sri Lanka’s First HD Satellite TV Channel “Thinetha TV” to Launch Soon

Steps have been taken to launch a satellite TV channel called “Thinetha TV” with the aim of informing the world about the economic and social trends realized by Sri Lanka after the 30 Years War, targeting the Sri Lankan community expatriate.

All programs generally broadcast on a national level television channel should be broadcast on that channel. As a result, shows such as news and current affairs, teledrams and music shows, documentaries, youth and women shows, sports and live shows will be broadcast. All these programs will be new creations of “Thintha TV”.

Special attention will be given to television programs in accordance with the International Code of Ethics which will provide viewers with uninterrupted viewing devoid of unnecessary and unethical commercials.

It will be the first satellite TV channel launched in Sri Lanka, which covers 116 countries around the world. It plans to cover Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. The channel, which aims to provide local news to Sri Lankan migrants and uplift the taste, plans to broadcast programming in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
